Apartment video should do more than look good in a social feed. A short walkthrough, floor plan explanation, or amenity overview can answer a real prospect question and create a better sense of place before the tour. But video is not a magic shortcut to rankings. It needs the same accuracy, structure, and upkeep as every other piece of content.
Start with a question worth answering
Plan videos around the decisions prospects need to make. A useful floor plan video identifies the plan, shows the relevant spaces, and avoids presenting optional finishes or unavailable features as standard. A neighborhood video should distinguish between onsite amenities and nearby businesses.
Give every video a useful home
Embed a video on the page that gives it context. Include a descriptive title, a concise summary, a current thumbnail, and an accurate upload date. Google explains that video structured data can help it understand details on a watch page, but eligibility does not guarantee a particular search result.
Make video accessible and honest
Add captions for spoken audio and provide a transcript when it helps users access the information. Avoid music or rapid edits that make the actual home difficult to evaluate. If pricing, availability, or specials appear in a video, establish a review routine so the video does not become a source of outdated information.
Measure whether video helps the journey
Views are easy to celebrate. A completed tour request after a video view tells you more. Compare that behavior with the rest of the page and listen to leasing feedback. If the video answers a question staff used to hear every day, it is doing real work.
